Behind the Board.

How xBoard came to be, told in ten slides.

Story slide 1 of 10, Spark of Inspiration: a young boy visits the Rome, New York Air Force base where his father worked as a computer engineer in the early 1980s. Surrounded by giant computers, blinking lights, and rows of filing cabinets, he feels an immediate sense of belonging in the world of technology and organization.
Story slide 2 of 10, A Curious Kid Becomes a Builder: between ages 10 and 15 the boy gets a Commodore 64, joins a computer club, and takes a paper route to buy floppy disks, which he collects, labels, and organizes into his own version of his father's computer lab and filing cabinets.
Story slide 3 of 10, The Making of a Programmer: during high school and engineering college he learns Pascal on TRS-80 computers, majors in computer engineering, and spends most of his time in the computer lab while also coaching wrestling. Not the fastest learner, but tireless.
Story slide 4 of 10, High Agency Emergence: from 1994 to 1997 he works in corporate America while building a personal side project called Total Recall, a digital organizer connecting people and information. Realizing he belongs in creation rather than corporate life, he decides to pursue his own path.
Story slide 5 of 10, IQ Test, Bootstrap or Bust: from 1997 to 2018 he founds ImageQuix and builds an e-commerce platform for professional photographers, then creates Blueprint software to manage massive amounts of data, working intensely for two decades but still feeling the work is not finished.
Story slide 6 of 10, A Final Vision Forms: in 2019 he finds a fourth-grade school project in which he wrote that he wanted to organize important files in metal cabinets when he grew up. Taking it as a sign, he spends a month at a whiteboard developing the vision for his next passion project.
Story slide 7 of 10, Building xBoard: from 2020 to 2023 development begins as a self-funded passion project. After four years of discarded designs and repeated rebuilds, the product finally begins to match the original vision, symbolized by four burned matches and a final match igniting.
Story slide 8 of 10, The Breakthrough, xBoard Is Born: from 2024 to 2025 an experienced design team is hired, the user experience and development team are rebuilt, and the project gains momentum. Internal alpha testing generates strong enthusiasm and results as early-adopter usage increases rapidly.
Story slide 9 of 10, Live in Order: the founder sits at a desk surrounded by floating icons representing files, communication, people, media, and information. xBoard grew from his lifelong effort to make chaos understandable and his mission to help people live in order.
Story slide 10 of 10, closing brand slide: the white xBoard logo centered on a black background above the closing message, Live in order.
